Biography
Douglas Tynan Ph.D. is currently the Coordinator for Mental Health for the American Diabetes Association and Professor of Pediatrics at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Previously he had served as the Director of Integrated Health Care at the American Psychological Association. He served on the medical staff at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC and the AI duPont Hospital for Children in Delaware. A health psychologist with over 35 years’ experience he has worked to establish comprehensive care programs that include health, mental health and social services for people with diabetes. He has over 50 publications, was a founding co-editor of the journal Clinical Practice in Pediatric Psychology, and reviews for pediatric, public health and psychology journals. In 2019 he received the prestigious Distinguished Service to the Profession from the American Board of Professional Psychology.
